Ryvn provides real-time access to your installation logs through our dashboard. Logs are available for installations with a service type of server, worker, or job.

Logs are retained for 7 days by default for all installations. Need longer retention? Contact support to discuss extended retention options.

Log Collection

Logs are collected via Alloy, our lightweight monitoring agent (< 1% CPU, < 100MB memory).

Log Storage and Management

Ryvn uses Loki, a highly efficient log aggregation system, to store and query your logs. Loki provides powerful search capabilities and efficient log storage while maintaining minimal resource overhead.

Your Cloud Environments

By default, logs are stored in Ryvn’s systems. View and search logs through the dashboard with filters for:

  • Installation name
  • Time range
  • Custom search terms

When viewing logs, you can select specific pods to view their logs. For installations with multiple pods, each pod name is displayed with its creation timestamp, making it easier to identify newer vs. older pods during deployments or troubleshooting.

Want to keep logs in your own infrastructure? Contact us to discuss options.

Customer Cloud Environments

By default, logs from your customers’ installations are stored in Ryvn’s systems. If your customers have specific data handling requirements, you can:

  1. Store logs in your own infrastructure
  2. Use on-demand log transfer as described below

On-Demand Log Transfer

For customers who need strict data isolation, on-demand log transfer enables temporary access during critical incidents while keeping logs in their environment at all other times. Here’s how it works:

1

Storage

Logs are stored in your customers’ environments until needed
2

Time Window

Your customers specify a time window (e.g., last hour or 24 hours)
3

Transfer

Logs are securely transferred to your designated storage location - either your cloud infrastructure or Ryvn’s systems

4

Access

Inspect the transferred logs through the Ryvn dashboard
5

Cleanup

You or your customer can purge the transferred logs at any time
